COX PLATE RACE DAY
Saturday's Suez Cox Plate Race Day set the bar for this years take on Spring Carnival.
The sun was shining, the ladies were looking glamorous and the men very dapper. Brisbane sure turned it on and I was having a grand old time positioned track-side in the Veuve Society marquee.
Cox Plate being Veuve Society's second exclusive event, it was nothing short of a successful turnout of over 120 of Brisbane's elite! Who doesn't love a champagne marquee but it was also the best seat in the house to watch all the racing action go down, being right in front of the finish line.
Fashion is hands down my all time favourite component to any race day and I had the pleasure of judging the REVIEW FASHIONS ON THE FIELD alongside, Emma and Amy Sheppard (from the band Sheppard), Courtney Thorpe (former Miss World Australia) and Mayowa Adeniyi (Institchu).
Bright colours, bold prints and the perfect textures were owning the stage with the ladies, and the men proved that navy isn't going out of season anytime soon.
When it comes to styling me, I am sure I can be super picky to deal with because I know what suits my body shape and what doesn't, I don't really have a rubber arm when it comes to trying something out of the ordinary. I'm not daring enough for traditional race wear but as soon as I came across this amazing Asilio dress designed by Rozalia Russian, I asked my stylist Sarah to source it for me and I am so glad she did because it's a race day winner for sure.
I'm a minimalist girl, I love pastels and texture and I am all about wearing unique headpieces too. When Sarah had this incredible Marilyn Van den Berg headpiece, it was a wham bam thank you ma'am, I'll take it - that lylic netting and the touch of metallic gold in the florals... UMMM - SO MUCH YES!
