Husband: Justin Hodges, 33, retired Broncos captain

Profession: HR Business Partner for Suncorp Group, Mum to Carter, 2

How did you meet? We met in 2007. I was out with some friends at the Gold Coast and met Justin through a mutual friend at Melbas.

Who inspires you? My mum because she raised my brother and I as a single parent. Nothing was ever too hard for her. Justin also inspires me because of his tenacity and hard work.

Most important thing in life? Happiness and good health for my family and friends.

Do you have a philosophy? What resonates with me is you have to love yourself before you can love others.

What do you do for work? I have been doing HR for 10 years previously based in an HR generalist role. I now focus on leadership coaching.

Fave thing about being a Mum? Having a mini-Justin, and just looking at your child knowing that you've created something is magical.

How do you juggle it all? Open communication, and always plan something ahead so you have something to work towards and look forward to.

Passions/interests? I love fashion, make-up, shopping and catching up with my close girlfriends. I am passionate about Carter doing sports as I think it's good for his confidence and learning development.

Describe your style? Classic, simplistic, stylish.

Fave destination? I loved our trip to Fiji last year.

What would you tell your younger self? To travel more.

How has Justin found the transition to retirement? The first couple of months was challenging as we were trying to get into the groove of balancing all of his opportunities. It's definitely been positive and Justin's really happy.

What's his involvement at the Broncos? He's a community program officer for Beyond the Broncos, as well as having a corporate ambassador role.

Anything else? He's part of the NRL ambassador program giving back to the community. He's the co-host of League Nation Live on NITV and he is also doing footy tipping and a fortnightly column for NRL.com

A talent we might not know Justin has? He's extremely street-smart. He also makes the best chicken carbonara.

Something no one knows about you both? I was a trampolinist for 10 years. I was the Queensland captain and an Australian champion. Justin proposed after we had been together for 4 months.

Justin's worst habit? Leaving empty chocolate wrappers in the fridge or cupboard.

Justin's best quality? His family values, his hard work and dedication, and always making Carter and I feel safe and loved.

What do you do as a family? We like to watch football. We head up to the Sunshine Coast and go to the beach as much as we can and play sports with Carter.
